Bookleteer is a self-funded project by non-profit creative studio, Proboscis. Other than a small ‘feasibility grant’ from the Technology Strategy Board in 2008, it has been built and maintained by us from a mixture of our own reserves, donations and sales generated from our Short Run printing service. Since October 2009 we have been helped by members and supporters to raise the the £10-12,000 we spend each year on development, hosting and maintaining it through a crowdfunding scheme, the Alpha Club. Members get a 5% discount on their first Short Run printing order and privileged access to special features such as the API. Contact us if you’d like more details or make a secure donation via Paypal.

[…] bookleter alpha club Proboscis has launched a supporters’ club offering advance access during the ‘alpha’ phase (up to 5 user accounts, access to APIs, pitch up & publish workshops & a Proboscis artists’ bookwork). Funds raised will go towards development of the bookleteer public beta which we hope to launch in Spring 2010. Alpha Club members will be honoured on the site as founder sponsors, and membership will be exclusive to those who join during the alpha phase. We’re excited that our first two members are DodoLab and Architecture Centre Network. http://bookleteer.com/blog/2009/10/alpha-club/ | http://bookleteer.com/blog/alpha-club/ […]
